Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Finisher Every Year 1990-2020

30. 1991 - Shooting Star Press

Best Finishers
New Japan Pro Wrestling

Or, simply, any of the moves Liger adopted as a finish at his incredible early '90s peak. One of the most innovative and greatest pro wrestlers ever, it would be borderline sacrilegious to omit him from this list, such was his spectacular creativity.

Liger was as much a badass as an artist - the top-rope DDT he also used in 1991 was wonderfully nasty - but his pioneered Shooting Star Press demands recognition because it was so magnificent and influential.

Breathtaking in its arc and violent in its impact - Liger's stocky frame put it over as something significantly more effective than a pretty aerial - Liger changed professional wrestling with it.
