Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Finisher Every Year 1990-2020

5. 2016 - Shatter Machine

Best Finishers

The Revival were so fantastic in NXT that they convinced the world mainstream tag team wrestling was back some three years before the formation of All Elite Wrestling. That wasn't remotely true - they were two southern style tag workers with unremarkable physiques Vince McMahon was never, ever going to buy - but they were so good that it felt like it had to be.

The Shatter Machine, an assisted Codebreaker, was and is a perfect finish because there was no countering it. It followed the Revival's trademark quick-tag strategy, leaving the wrestler taking it too fatigued to offer resistance.

But then, what could they even do?

Those hard knees to the chest arrive much too quickly to do a damn thing about.
