Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Finisher Every Year 1990-2020

6. 2015 - Meltzer Driver

Best Finishers
PWG

The best thing about the Meltzer Driver is that Nick Jackson really only does the somersault spike to be a complete, flagrant, sh*t-eating d*ckhead.

The Bucks revelled in their perception as irritants - they were so great at drawing heat that their obnoxiousness put enough people off to shape their insurgent legend - and Nick was a fantastic sh*theel. He didn't need to do that. He thought it would be funny to show off his unbelievable natural talent just to show people that he did indeed have it.

But this wasn't just a d*ck move; as a Tombstone piledriver, it was a move fans had been conditioned to take seriously as a definitive match-ender in a more trad context.

Pregnant with transgression - these "flippy indie geeks" who "didn't know psychology" conjured echoes of sacred old school vanguards the Undertaker and the Brain Busters - it worked in every context imaginable: character, theatre, move that would really, really hurt.
