Ranking WWE's Divisions - From Worst To Best
5. Raw's Mid-Card
During the Superstar Shake-Up, WWE essentially transferred SmackDown's mid-card over to Raw. That is because Raw's mid-card now consists of only two men - Dean Ambrose and The Miz.
The Miz had a career resurgence in late 2016, bringing the Intercontinental Championship back to relevance. Ambrose, coming off his first World Title reign, provided a legitimate dance partner, and the two have been at each other's throats for months now. Personally, I think having these two go to war for months on end makes the title seem hugely prestigious, and it looks like that is the direction Raw is taking.
That is because outside of these two, Raw's options for mid-carders either come from up or down the card. Guys like Bálor, Rollins, and Reigns have been protected as top-of-the-card mainstays, meaning they're unlikely to float down to the IC Title scene any time soon. On the other hand, there aren't too many guys to elevate into that scene either, with Elias Samson, Kalisto, and Crews being the best of a bad bunch.
If WWE can maintain the intrigue surrounding Ambrose vs. Miz, then Raw's mid-card will remain in decent shape. If not, the IC Title might fall back into the nether of insignificance.
