Real Reason For Montez Ford's WWE Absence After Recent Lawsuit (WWE News)

A "lap dancing" lawsuit actually has nothing to do with Montez Ford going AWOL from WWE TV.

Recent news has Street Profits star Montez Ford in legal hot water stemming from a "lap dance" involving security on Raw. However, WrestleVotes reported during a Q&A with fans that Ford's continued absence from WWE TV has less to do with that and more do with something else.

Namely, he and Bianca Belair just welcomed a baby boy into the world on 4 August.

Whilst it's definitely true that security guard Noel Lucas has taken Ford and WWE to court due to an incident on the flagship, WrestleVotes claims there's no lingering heat on Montez and going AWOL from programming isn't some sort of "punishment".

The Lucas trial is a messy situation WWE will want to tidy up as soon as possible though. The company actually tried to keep things under wraps for as long as possible - "This lawsuit was kept as quiet as it could be before it broke".

Once it went public, there were wide eyes all over the place. If anything, a lot of wrestling fans who watch the product weekly probably don't even remember Ford gyrating in the security guard's face around ringside, but Lucas decided to take legal action regardless.

He's alleging that he "suffered humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress" due to the incident, and is seeking unspecified monetary damages, punitive damages etc.

The timing is interesting, to say the least. WWE had already agreed to give Montez some time off to spend at home with Bianca and the baby before this story broke. Stay tuned for more on the lawsuit as it develops.
