Real Reason The Miz Turned On Logan Paul At WWE WrestleMania 38
The truth behind one of WrestleMania 38's more curious creative choices.
If you were wondering why The Miz turned on Logan Paul at WrestleMania 38 despite the YouTuber's excellent heel performance opposite Rey and Dominik Mysterio, it was the product of a clause.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Paul, whose wrestling persona has been the right kind of detestable thus far, made a deal with WWE that he would turn babyface at the end of the program with the Mysterios. Thus, Miz hit his 'Mania tag team partner with a Skull Crushing Finale after their win over Dominik and Rey.
It was a curious move on the night, given that Paul drew some of WrestleMania's biggest heel actions. His mimicry of Eddie Guerrero's signature Three Amigos suplexes, shoulder shimmy, and Frog Splash turned AT&T Stadium into an inferno, with the 27-year-old demonstrating a strong grasp of traditional wrestling psychology in a well-received showing.
Trained for WrestleMania 38 by Adam Pearce and Shane 'Hurricane' Helms, Paul has talked up the possibility of returning to WWE if the fans responded to him the right way. Whether or not this will come to fruition remains to be seen.
If it does, perhaps a Miz singles match is on the agenda.
