Rebooking The 2002 WWE Brand Extension Draft

16. Smackdown Pick 3: Chris Jericho

Ric Flair Vince McMahon 2002 Draft

Actual Pick: Chris Benoit

After locking up Angle and Rock, Vince turns his eyes to a man who legitimately stepped up his game to become one of the top superstars in the company, Chris Jericho. Y2J is coming off the best year of his career, becoming the first ever Undisputed Champion at Vengeance in December 2001 and main eventing WrestleMania X8.

In Jericho, what Vince McMahon has bought is durability. Jericho never...eeeeeeeever gets injured. He would go on to take multiple hiatuses to tour with his band, Fozzy, but he always comes back, reinventing himself each time, and killing it either as a heel or a babyface.

A couple more World Championships will come Jericho's way, in addition to feud of the year candidates with Shawn Michaels in 2008 and Rey Mysterio in 2009. He is a guaranteed Hall of Famer who is still going strong today.
