Rebooking WWE WrestleMania 2000: 8 Ways To Make It Better
8. The Radicalz (Eddie, Saturn & Malenko) Vs. Too Cool & Rikishi (w/Chyna)
This match did take place at the preceding month's No Way Out pay-per-view (with Benoit in there in place of Eddie) but this could have very easily been changed. Besides, this is all about kicking the show off in a hot way, which is bound to be the case with the ultra-over Too Cool and Rikishi going out there first. Seriously, go back and look at Judgement Day or the Royal Rumble or any episode of Raw from early 2000. You'll observe a molten crowd who were into absolutely everything the dancing trio were doing. They are the perfect choice for the opener and the Radicalz, still new to WWE, are the perfect opponents. This one would be ten or twelve minutes of fluid back-and-forth action, before the story shifts to focus on Eddie Guerrero and Chyna. Latino Heat and the Ninth Wonder of the World had been feuding on the road to WrestleMania, and in the original WM 2000, Eddie and Chyna squared off at the end of the match, with Chyna getting the better of the slimy Guerrero and beating him clean in the middle of the ring. That won't happen here, but there will instead be a variation on that scenario. With Malenko, Saturn and Too Cool brawling around ringside, the referee is struggling to keep control of things. Rikishi has Eddie down in the corner, in prime position for a Stinkface, when Eddie hits a low blow to prevent the ass-to-face contact and goes for a chair. Just as he's about to clock the Samoan with it, Chyna grabs it from him, kicks him in the cagones and delivers an almighty powerbomb (after Eddie has failed to sweet talk her out of it, of course). Phatu hits the Rikishi Driver on the dazed Guerrero for the 1-2-3 and Too Cool and Chyna celebrate by dancing. It's a heated yet feel-good opener that lets Chyna have her revenge on Eddie without having to actually, you know, wrestle too much.
