Rebooking WWE WrestleMania 2000: 8 Ways To Make It Better

7. Crash Vs. Hardcore Holly - Hardcore Title

The original Hardcore Title match at WrestleMania 2000 was a 15-man match, which had a fifteen minute time limit and saw the title change hands no less than ten times. The match was, basically, a huge mess and seemed to solely exist in order to give Bradshaw and Farooq a reason to viciously hit members of the Mean Street Posse with weapons. The real story of the match should have been on the tumultuous relationship between cousins Crash and Hardcore Holly. In this revised edition of 'Mania 2000, I'm getting rid of thirteen of the other combatants (many of whom appear in the next match on this rebooked card) as well as getting rid of the fifteen minute time limit stipulation. Indeed, this will just be Crash versus Hardcore in a singles Hardcore Title match. Give them eight minutes, let them go at it hammer and tongs and, eventually, have 'Bombastic Bob' come out on top. In the original match, the finish was messed up (the clock was supposed to run out before Holly got the three count but there was a miscommunication between the referee and the production truck). There'll be no mistakes here: Holly gets the win with something suitably nasty and becomes the new Hardcore Champion.
