Rebooking WWE WrestleMania X-Seven's Gimmick Battle Royal For Modern Times

12. The Spirit Squad

A pack of all-male cheerleaders may not sound like a group that belong in wrestling, but the Spirit Squad were a staple of WWE programming in 2006. Whether as Tag Team Champions or as Vince McMahon's henchmen, the energetic, irritating heels drew huge heat from the mid-noughties crowd.

Kenny, Mikey, Nicky, Johnny and Mitch (that's all of them, we think) were as gimmicky as gimmicky could be. This throwback to the early '90s - where wrestlers had jobs that revolved around careers or hobbies - would have fit in perfectly alongside Sparky Plugg the racing driver or The Smoking Gunns, and that is why they need a place in this match.

If every member of The Spirit Squad entered this match, then there'd be no room for anybody else. If we offer them two spots in the match, then Kenny and Mikey are the ones who should get the spot. Not only did Kenny Dykstra receive a semi-decent singles push in WWE, but he and Mikey have teamed together as "The Spirit Squad" on the indies.

Also, if there could be a spot where Dolph Ziggler interacts with the rest of the Squad, that would be superb.
