Released WWE Superstar To Sign With NJPW?
A new dawn could await this cut-loose WWE wrestler in Japan.
Former WWE Superstar Karl Anderson has teased a potential return to New Japan Pro Wrestling on social media.
The ex-OC man tweeted the following video last night, showing various shots of Tokyo, Japan accompanied by puroresu commentary clips and his old nickname, 'Machine Gun':-
Anderson was one of 22 wrestlers let go by WWE as part of Wednesday's mass cuts, as was his tag team partner, Luke Gallows. The duo has already set up a Patreon page reviving the Talk'n Shop podcast they used to host prior to joining WWE in 2016.
Returning to NJPW would likely suit Anderson well. He and Gallows were presented in a much better light on that side of the Pacific, dominating the IWGP heavyweight tag division across multiple title reigns, with their first lasting a full year. In addition, Anderson proved himself an underrated singles wrestler when given the opportunity, pulling out banger matches with the likes of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura, and more.
Such chances weren't often afforded to Anderson and Gallows in WWE, where they spent much of their time operating as AJ Styles' seconds. Let's see if they had back to NJPW once their 90-day non-competes expire.
