Report: Seth Rollin's WWE Injury A WORK, "Early" Return & Cash-In Planned (WWE News)

With the wrestling world in shock over the weekend after WWE's Seth Rollins suffered an apparent knee injury at Saturday Night's Main Event, there continues to be rumblings that all is not quite as it seems with that injury.

For those who missed this latest SNME, Rollins squared off with LA Knight. After hitting a springboard senton, the Visionary then went for a springboard moonsault, where he landed on his feet. Upon landing, Seth immediately grabbed his knee and crumpled to the mat. After being briefly seen to by a member of the WWE medical team, Rollins stood up and took the BFT to get the Megastar the 1-2-3.

In the days after Saturday Night's Main Event, it was reported that this match finish was changed on the fly, with Seth Rollins originally scheduled to pick up the win. Once it became apparent that Seth was hurt, an audible was called for the result to be switched.

As Triple H said in the post-Evolution media scrum, Rollins was due to get an MRI in Birmingham, Alabama this past Monday. Since then, the star himself appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he said there was too much swelling to get a diagnosis for the MRI, that they'll try again in a week or two, but that, knowing his own body, he expects to be out of action for an "extended" period of time.

However, despite all of this, an initial story from John Pollock over at POST Wrestling noted how he'd heard as early as last Thursday that there would be an injury angle at Saturday Night's Main Event and that the Rollins injury was, essentially, a work.

This was a story later corroborated by Dave Meltzer, and now Bryan Alvarez at f4wonline states that, while Seth did go into SNME with a "very minor" knee injury, the on-screen, mid-match injury was indeed a work. So much so, talent and the production crew were led to believe Rollins had suffered a very real, very significant injury during that LA Knight match.

Alvarez added that the current plan is for people to be under the impression that Seth Rollins is going to be out injured for a long, long time, only for Rollins to return "early" and surprise people with a Money in the Bank cash-in.

Given the various stories going round about this entire situation, expect to be hearing even more about this in the coming days and weeks.
