Report: Vince McMahon Already "Negative" & "Uncertain" On Shayna Baszler

This doesn't bode well for 'The Queen of Spades.'

It sounds like Vince McMahon may have already cooled off on Shayna Baszler.

This is according to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with the writeup stating that "there was negativity and uncertainty regarding McMahon's reaction to Baszler's match with Kairi Sane on Raw."

Meltzer extrapolates, noting that the wrestlers and match didn't get the desired crowd reactions and that the bout failed to make 'The Queen of Spades' look like a potential WrestleMania 36 headliner, which she could well be if she ends up winning this Sunday's Elimination Chamber match as expected.

The bout in question was poorly-received and the above points are valid. Still, Baszler and Sane worked a lengthy feud full of acclaimed matches in NXT, making it entirely possible that Monday's failure had something to do with the main roster's rigid agenting system. Whatever the case, it didn't land.

If the report is accurate, WWE is in a tough spot with the Raw Women's Championship. Realistically, Baszler is the only choice to win the Chamber and face Becky Lynch at 'Mania, as Asuka has already lost to 'The Man' twice in 2020, Natalya isn't a headliner, and Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, and Ruby Riott aren't over. Let's see what happens.
