Rewatching The Last Wrestling Show To Beat WWE Raw In The Ratings

5. Everybody Got A Reaction

Revisiting any old wrestling programming, you always expect the big stars of the time time to get a major reaction - in the case of 1998 WCW, that means the likes of Goldberg, Sting, Bret Hart, DDP, the Four Horsemen and certain nWo acts.

What somewhat blindsides you, though, is the big reactions that everybody got back in '98.

No disrespect to any of these names, but Alex Wright, Wrath, Prince Iaukea, Kenny Kaos, Barry Horowitz and Stevie Ray get surprisingly big reactions from the crowd. When you think of the crickets that some of the main event WWE stars of recent years have served up, it's a tad nuts to see a perennial job guy like Barry Horowitz garnering a decent reaction to his shtick.

To spotlight the fans of the day, the in-attendance folks at Phoenix's America West Arena ate up every single thing that came their way. As an example, just a glance to the crowd by Wrath had people losing their sh*t. Not to throw shade towards Bryan Clark - the man behind the gimmick - but Wrath was never presented as anything even close to being a big deal, and that gimmick was largely just a simmered down version of Clark's Adam Bomb character at that time.

Back in 1998, everybody was over, brother.
