Ric Flair's 10 Greatest WWE Matches

1. Royal Rumble (1992)

Is 1992 the greatest ever Rumble? There’s certainly an argument to be made.

Flair’s performance, however, must surely be in contention not only for the best Rumble showing, but one of the finest nights’ work in WWE history.

The Nature Boy had recently made the jump from WCW, and brought with it the iconic Big Gold Belt. While he (and advocate Bobby Heenan) was calling himself the real |World champ to all those who’d listen, the WWE’s vacant Heavyweight belt was on the line in the Rumble.

Entering at #3, Flair put on nothing short of a masterclass. He’s in trademark heel mode throughout, begging off and launching sneak attacks, but his resilience and grit more than proves his wrestling bonafides.

Add in Heenan doing the lord’s work on commentary putting Flair over like his life depended on it, and you’ve got a Rumble that’s nothing short of a masterpiece. Ric’s crazy, bug eyed promo following his win tells the whole tale.

The man was a star long before the 1992 Royal Rumble, but on that night, he became a legend.
