The Nature Boy only had one WrestleMania clash in his prime, but luckily, it was a fantastic one. His clash with Randy Savage should be required viewing for anyone trying to make it in the business as a heel. The immensely talented pair are given a good chunk of time to work with, and they bring the best out of one another.

The feud had a personal edge to it - Flair antagonising the Macho Man over a supposed past relationship with wife Elizabeth - and with Flair’s title on the line, there was plenty to be getting on with going into the clash.

The pair brought the animosity to the fore, tearing chunks off each other. The arc of the match is superb, Flair dominating the early stages with his wily ring awareness (and ringside advocate Mr Perfect, who adds a lot), then a resurgence from the Macho Man before heelish tactics cut him off at the legs.

Savage eventually grabs the win (in a rather sudden fashion), but really the match belongs to Flair. He’s at his larger than life, antagonistic best here, and combined with some of his finest ring work under the WWE banner, it makes for a great title match.

That it didn’t headline the event remains an outrage.
