The Nature Boy is one of sports entertainment’s most prolific bleeders, and he proudly wears the crimson mask for the majority of this highly entertaining - and seriously gruesome - cage match for his Intercontinental championship.

Much of Flair’s 2000s WWE return was spent alongside Triple H, and the two put their chemistry to great use here. The Game takes several pages out of Flair’s book, dropping an unpadded knee on his opponent’s bloodied head and locking the veteran in his signature Figure Four submission.

Flair turns the tables in due course, living up to his reputation as the dirtiest player in the game. He bludgeons his erstwhile protege with a chair, and finally takes his opponent out of the game with what Joey Styles memorably labels a “testicular claw” (it’s exactly what it sounds like).

This is a good old fashioned bloodbath, carried out at a methodical pace and given the feel of a deeply felt feud. It’ll win no awards for technical prettiness, but the former Evolution stablemates have superb chemistry and show great commitment, especially for a C tier (at best) pay per view.
