While his WWE career started like a house afire, Flair’s relationship with Vince McMahon quickly soured after a forbidden blade job at WrestleMania and accusations of a poor work ethic. An agreement was quickly made that the Nature Boy would return back down south.

On his way out, though, he did the right thing and put over Curt Hennig in a Loser Leaves Town match on Raw. While the match perhaps falls slightly short of what you might expect from two of the all time great pros, the pair put on a solid bout that tells a good story.

Bobby Heenan, who was heavily involved with both wrestlers throughout Flair’s first WWE run, does his usual exemplary work on commentary, and the Nature Boy puts on a quality heel performance to ensure the fans will be glad to see the back of him.

Flair would return to WCW a hero, putting on some career-best matches against the likes of Sting and Vader, and while he had better WWE matches before and after, this was a solid (if unspectacular) way to cap off his first run under Vince.
