Ric Flair's 10 Greatest WWE Matches

3. Vs Edge (Raw 2006)

Ric Flair, at 56 years of age, getting a title shot is an inspiring sight. The veteran deserves every bit of shine he gets, even if he clearly isn’t going to snatch the belt from the recently crowned Edge.

Putting Ric Flair in his first ever tables, ladders, and chairs match at such an age, however, seems like something close to sadism. Flair may be the greatest wrestler ever to lace boots, but he’s known for his mat work, not his extreme rules nous.

While the sight of Flair in such a match was a shock, less surprising is how well he takes to it. He and Edge put on a brutal bout on Raw in the heart of Flair country (his daughter Ashley, later to become Charlotte, watches on from the crowd).

Flair loses, of course, but he proves himself once again to be an incredible servant to the business, taking big bumps, bleeding buckets, and - just for a moment - making the audience believe he can triumph over an opponent 20 years his junior.

Another match ticked off the bucket list for the all time great.
