Ring Of Honor COO Joe Koff Interview: ROH 500, Product Relaunch, Maintaining Talent, More

Do you determine who the cornerstones of the company are going to be when mapping out the shows or is that something that comes about organically?

Koff: It was totally organic. Creative has had much more say in that, but when you think about The Briscoes, these are two men that started with Ring of Honor. Mark wasn't old enough to even be in the ring, so he was Jay's manager. To think of them and their history as a tag team and the fact they were never on a big stage other than Madison Square Garden, I don't think they get their total due. They are probably one of the greatest tag teams ever and they choose us to be their home.

That's a cornerstone for me. That's a foundational piece. Jay Lethal of course has held every title and he's just so special. I hate start mentioning names because other people will read this and ask, “What about me?” All my guys are like my children. We do have a core group of talent that do represent the promotion in a certain way and it's happened organically.
