1. The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan (WrestleMania X8)
WWE.comAny wrestling fan would be lying if they told you they expected what happened at WrestleMania X8. Hollywood Hulk Hogan was just a few months into his return to the company that created him, once again heading up the nWo. But this version of the New World Order lacked the same rebellious coolness that had made them such a hit in WCW, and with one brief backstage interaction The Rock was able to crap on all three and make them look silly. The build to the match between Rock and Hogan was hokey, with The Hulkster attempting vehicular homicide on The Great One and looking like the biggest chickensh*t heel on Earth. But on that night in Toronto, one of the most spontaneous and special moments in wrestling history unfolded. The fans allegiance began to change mid-match, perhaps out of nostalgia for the last time the legendary Hogan was in the Skydome for a WrestleMania, in his classic bout vs. The Ultimate Warrior. Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Rock began to heel it up, while Hulk started adopting his babyface mannerisms. When he hulked up on The Rock, the place EXPLODED. Its an environment the likes of which we rarely see in wrestling. The match itself was fine, but it reaches legendary status due to the electric feel in the arena on the night, the kind of atmosphere that can only be created by the all-time greats. What matches would you include on a list of The Rock's Most Electrifying?
