ROH Final Battle 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen
4. The Pure Title Match Gets Serious Time
"Serious time" means 30-35 minutes.
Listen, anybody buying Final Battle on pay-per-view knows what they're getting. Or, at least, they know what they should be getting from their purchase. Ring Of Honor has come to mean in-ring excellence to those who care about it, and that's why Daniel Garcia vs. Wheeler Yuta must be epic.
The ROH Pure Title conjures up images of gruelling battles between names like Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson, Jonathan Gresham and Josh Woods. It's a true workhorse belt, and that comes with some unique pressures to deliver bouts that reflect this style when it matters.
Garcia and Yuta are clearly two young lions with bright futures ahead of them in AEW. It'd be a crying shame if they weren't given bags of time to show what they can do and tell a slow-burning story. If these boys don't steal the show (wrestling-wise), then it'll be a shocker.
