ROH Final Battle 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

3. AEW Ditch One Added Stip

AEW has a bit of a nasty habit when it comes to stacking stipulations on top of one another for the sake of it. They didn't tend to do that when the company started, but lazy pre-PPV tropes have reared their ugly head. That's why Claudio Castagnoli will join JAS forever if he fails to beat Chris Jericho.

Urgh.

This was such an unnecessary pile-on. Claudio proving something to himself and going up against the odds vs. JAS and Jericho at Final Battle was enough. Why they felt the need to tack on the old 'unwilling member' chestnut is anyone's guess. It just wasn't needed.

Would anyone be annoyed if All Elite quietly ditched that stipulation before Final Battle, or had Tony Khan overrule it via social media? ROH World Championship matches should be strictly about holding a prize that proves you're the best wrestler, not facilitating sketches like Castagnoli fetching Chris Jericho some Starbucks.
