Roman Reigns Celebrates 700+ Days As WWE's Top Guy
Roman Reigns on his huge Undisputed WWE Universal Title reign, which is nearing the two-year mark.
Roman Reigns passed 700 days as WWE's top champion earlier this week, doing so after defeating Brock Lesnar in his latest Undisputed Universal Championship defence at SummerSlam 2022 (30 July).
It took WWE's leading light a few days to comment. Yesterday, he decided to commemorate the occasion, doing so in character:-
For over 700 days, you’ve sat at MY table and enjoyed MY body of work. It’s not over, I’m not finished, but if you’ve waited until this point to do so… #AcknowledgeME pic.twitter.com/HIIwLdGvFc

Roman's run atop WWE commenced at Payback 2020, where he ended Bray Wyatt's Universal Championship bout in a match also featuring Braun Strowman. A year and a half later, Reigns added the WWE Championship to his collection by defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.
Beating Brock means that Roman is almost certain to surpass the two-year mark as well. WWE has confirmed his next defence is to be against Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle on 3 September. He will have been a champion for two years by the time 30 August comes around, meaning the promotion would have to book a quickfire title defeat for him to not reach another big landmark.
Reigns is currently enjoying WWE's longest World Title reign since Hulk Hogan took the belt in 1984, running with it for 1,474 days.
