According to a fan who attended the Elimination Chamber PLE over the weekend, they had a sign confiscated that urged WWE to book women in more main event spots.

As picked up on by Reddit, Instagram user old_man_sweater had a sign that simply said "LET WOMEN MAIN EVENT", with that sign visible early on in the Chamber broadcast before it was allegedly confiscated.

With your writer having painstakingly looked back through every PLE of the past few years, discounting last year's all-female Evolution event, the last time WWE's women were in a main roster PLE main event was February 2024's Elimination Chamber. Of course, the caveat there is that the event took place in Perth, Australia, and so it was local hero Rhea Ripley closing out the show as she retained the Women's World Championship against Nia Jax.

Away from that, you have to go back to WrestleMania 37 Night 1 for a women's PLE main event, where Bianca Belair beat Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women's Title in an excellent match. And if you only include single-night PLEs, that takes you all the way back to May 2020's Money in the Bank for the women's roster to be featured in a main event spot. Again, though, the catch there is that this was the dark days of the pandemic, and this was when the men's and women's MITB bouts both took place simultaneously across Titan Towers.

So, for a one-day PLE that wasn't the all-female Evolution, you have to dial back to March 2020's Elimination Chamber for the women's roster to be the sole attraction in the main event spot. That would be the women's Chamber match memorably won by Shayna Baszler, as the Queen of Spades decimated her competition, tapping out Sarah Logan, Ruby Riott, Natalya, and Liv Morgan, before putting Asuka to sleep.

To show how much time has passed since Elimination Chamber 2020, this is a PLE that featured Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak, Andrade, John Morrison, Tucker, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Buddy Murphy, Akam, Rezar, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, and the aforementioned Shayna Baszler, Sarah Logan, and Ruby Riott; all talents who no longer work for the company.

While the main roster has given short shrift to its women's roster when it comes to PLE main events, NXT has fared a little better on this front, most recently with The Great American Bash being headlined by Jordynne Grace & Blake Monroe vs. Jacy Jayne & Fallon Henley last July. Before that, February 2025 had Vengeance Day closed out by Giulia retaining the NXT Women's Title against Bayley, Roxanne Perez, and Cora Jade, and the main event of December 2024's Deadline was Giulia winning the women's Iron Survivor match. The main event of NXT No Mercy 2023 was Becky Lynch successfully defending the NXT Women's Title against Tiffany Stratton, but you have to go back to April 2021 for Stand & Deliver Night 1 for the previous women's PLE main event, which was Raquel Gonzalez beating Io Shirai for the NXT Women's Title on the final NXT broadcast on USA Network, and again part of a two-night event.

Given some of the hugely talented stars on WWE's women's roster these days, there are certainly wrestlers there worthy of those big PLE main event spots. Whether they get those spots in the near future, though, that remains to be seen.
