Roman Reigns/Goldberg Segment Announced For Next Week's WWE SmackDown
Will we learn who will be stepping in to replace 'The Big Dog'?
Last night's pre-taped Friday Night SmackDown on FOX continued to build towards the epic showdown between Roman Reigns and Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 - despite Reigns' reportedly pulling out of the match - and it was announced that the pair would meet face-to-face next week.
Reigns opted to drop out of the match at 'Mania 36 because he didn't feel safe wrestling at the Performance Center during the current global situation as he is immunocompromised due to his battle with leukemia in 2018/19.
However, last night's SmackDown continued to hype up the clash by airing Reigns' battle against Triple H for the WWE title at 'Mania 32, before interviewing 'The Game' himself for his views on the scheduled title match.
You have to imagine that next week's confrontation will end with Reigns' replacement being announced. That being said, it's not out of the realms of possibility for WWE to wait until the night of 'Mania (be it Saturday or Sunday) to reveal who will be taking over from Reigns.
Braun Strowman is an early frontrunner, while Matt Riddle is an outside contender to step in, too.
Hopefully, all will be revealed next week.
