As if you needed another reason to acknowledge your Tribal Chief this weekend, Roman Reigns surpassed a major milestone on Saturday, reaching 1,000 consecutive days as a World Champion.

It is officially the longest WWE World Title reign since Hulk Hogan's 1,474-day run ended in February 1988. It's currently the sixth-longest WWE world title reign in company history, though Roman will surpass Pedro Morales' 1,027-day run in less than four weeks. After that would be Bruno Sammartino's second run with the WWWF Title, which clocked in at 1,237 days.

This should come also with a qualifier, as Roman has held the WWE Universal Championship since SummerSlam 2020, when he dethroned The Fiend. He held that title for nearly 600 days before adding the WWE Championship to his collection when he beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in a winner-take-all match.

Still, this is an extremely impressive run for Reigns, who has defeated all challengers along the way, toppling Kevin Owens, Brock Lesnar, Sami Zayn, Edge, Daniel Bryan, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, Goldberg, Riddle, Logan Paul, and of course Cody Rhodes.

The Head of the Table's death grip on the World Title(s) recently prompted WWE to establish a new major piece of gold, the World Heavyweight Championship, which Seth Rollins won at Night of Champions yesterday.

Unfortunately for Roman Reigns, Saturday didn't include a lot of celebrating, as he and Solo Sikoa lost against Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Night of Champions, and there was further fractions amongst the Bloodline as Jimmy Uso turned on Roman towards the close of that contest.
