Roman Reigns Walks Out On WWE Press Conference, Refuses Questions
Reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion gimmicks his Clash at the Castle presser appearance.
Roman Reigns gimmicked his appearance at last night's post-Clash at the Castle press conference, with the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion declining to answer any questions before walking out of the room.
In what could be interpreted as WWE's new head of creative taking a page out of AEW rival Tony Khan's book, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque hosted a conference atypical of WWE immediately after the Cardiff, Wales supershow. Reigns was the first wrestler to be introduced, opting to take the kayfabe route rather than speaking candidly.
Journalist Alex McCarthy asked for Roman's thoughts about the size of Clash at the Castle, which drew over 62,000 fans (per WWE's numbers). Rather than answer, Reigns stood up, dropped his "acknowledge me" catchphrase, and left the room.
Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre in a controversial Clash at the Castle main event prior to the presser. The bout saw the debut of NXT 2.0 star Solo Sikoa, the real-life brother of Bloodline members Jimmy and Jey Uso, which informed the finish. Sikoa showing up clad in a hoodie opened the window for Reigns to blast Drew and score the pinfall.
An interesting booking decision, given the effort put into building McIntyre up as a homecoming hero in the United Kingdom. This was WWE's first stadium show on the isles in 30 years.
