Samoa Joe has laughed off criticism of his recent AEW World Title win at this past weekend's Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view. There, the renowned veteran defeated Hangman Page in a steel cage main event to bag the belt and kickstart his second run with All Elite's top prize. asd

Opinion was definitely split amongst fans after the show. Some on socials heralded Joe's return to the top, whilst others wondered if Tony Khan was making the right call. The latter camp was loud enough to catch the new champ's attention - he posted via X to say, "I heard some of y'all are upset", and he included a laughing .GIF for good measure.

Shots fired.

Joe's win ends Page's own second reign at 134 days. For reference, Hangman's first stint as AEW World Champ ran for 197 days between November 2021-May 2022, and it was ended by none other than CM Punk at Double Or Nothing 2022. He'd regain the strap from Jon Moxley at All In: Texas on 12 July 2025.

Meanwhile, Samoa Joe's first run with the title began at Worlds End 2023 on 30 December that year. It lasted all the way up until Dynasty on 21 April 2024 when Swerve Strickland dethroned him to win his first World Title in a major company.

If Joe's social media response is anything to go by, then fans should expect to see/hear some sneering promos from him on episodes of Dynamite and Collision going forwards. He'll likely mock the critics who are unhappy that he's champion all over again.
