At WrestleMania 33, Brock Lesnar dethroned Bill Goldberg for the Universal Title in one of the most satisfying matches on the entire card. It was a brief but brutal affair, paying off their excellent series that began six months earlier with Goldberg's emphatic destruction of 'The Beast' at November 2016's Survivor Series.

On that night, Shane McMahon was also physically involved, but had by then thankfully been moved away from his own longform programme with Paul Heyman's client.

Following Lesnar's destruction of Randy Orton at SummerSlam that year, Brock nailed Shane with an F5 after the SmackDown Live! Commissioner took to the ring to insist he cease his latest path of rage. It was laughable seeing McMahon, of all people, square up to the almost indestructible former UFC Champion and almost back him down before taking the finisher to close the pay-per-view.

They'd have honest-to-god pull-aparts on television, with a view of leaving animosity on the table that would rear its ugly head around WrestleMania time. Thankfully, WWE locked Big Bill in just in time, sparing viewers the sight of Lesnar cowering in fear from some of the worst worked punches in industry history.
