Daniel Bryan frantically darted through the backstage area of Glasgow's SSE Hydro assessing the suitability of his roster. He was searching for a Survivor Series team replacement in the wake of an injury suffered by Baron Corbin earlier in the night.

Tasked by boss Shane McMahon with finding the toughest superstar for the job, Bryan concluded his night-long quest with only one man deemed worthy of the task and the billing as the blue brand's biggest badass - Shane McMahon.

That the announcement came after The Wyatt Family had been successful in a match against Dean Ambrose, James Ellsworth and Kane. Thus, Luke Harper, having been victorious seconds earlier, was still rendered surplus to the team's needs, because the former European Champion was now in the fold.

And speaking of titleholders, WWE Champion AJ Styles was also made to play second fiddle, despite becoming the new 'Champ That Runs The Camp' in the absence of the defeated and temporarily departed John Cena.

The match itself was an even dafter opportunity for McMahon to remind fans that he was far more worthy of their attention that the bulk of his roster. Going through a table and eventually taking a Roman Reigns spear from a 'Coast To Coast' attempt, McMahon was eliminated without being pinned. The very real concussion he suffered didn't compare to such head-spinning booking. It was frankly remarkable he wasn't actually written to score the winning fall.
