Shane McMahon's 9 Most Death-Defying WWE Stunts

8. Shooting Star Press Onto A Trash Can - King Of The Ring 2001

We've all seen what can happen when a Shooting Star Press is executed poorly. Granted, Shane is a helluva lot lighter and more agile than Brock Lesnar, so the likelihood of him breaking his neck here wasn't quite as much of a threat. Still, the guy wasn't consistently performing in the ring, so the finer aspects of executing such a difficult maneuver may have alluded him. But you sure as hell wouldn't know that from watching him backflip off the top turnbuckle that night. With Kurt Angle stretched out on the mat, a trash can laying overtop him (always Shane-O-Mac's go-to prop), the young McMahon ascended to the third turnbuckle, with all eyes fixed on him. What the hell was he going to do here? You just never could tell with this guy. When he launched himself up into the air, a collective gasp fell across the audience. He hit the spot perfectly, soaring through the air like a majestic falcon in track pants. (Honestly, Billy Kidman could learn something about the amount of hang time required to make that move really pop.) Kurt Angle moved out of the way, though, so the only thing Shane connected with was the lip of the trash can. The crowd rightfully gave him a classic ECW "Ho-ly sh*t" chant for his troubles.
