Shawn Michaels Q&A: 10 Things We Learned

1. He's At A Good Place In Life

Before the very first question was asked, Shawn addressed the audience and said that he was going to be as honest as he possibly could be. He spoke about how at a Q&A the night before, one fan had told him that his honesty had 'taken the shine off' Shawn's image. Quite what that fan had hoped from listening to Shawn, and inferred candidness that comes from a Q&A is unclear. Either way, Shawn told us in advance he was presenting us with the truth, and the man answering the questions wasn't 'Shawn Michaels', but the man who played him. Shawn kept to his word and was unreservedly honest. We asked for his opinions and we got them. He spoke openly about the lowest point of his life. He talked about how he's not coming back, and although he's grateful for everything wrestling and his fans have given him, that he doesn't need wrestling anymore. He wants to concentrate on his family and being the best father and husband he can be. What was most apparent from Shawn's Q&A is that he's reached a point in his life where he's happy. He's content with the life he's leading now and the life he's had. He admitted that he's had a bumpy ride, but he's thankful, and he's glad he went through it all because it got him to this point in his life, and made him the man that he is today. It could be argued that the shine did come off a little, but the person underneath it was much more interesting.
