Stephanie McMahon Thinks You Should Use A VPN To Watch WWE For Free (WWE News)

In the US and annoyed at WWE punting PLEs onto ESPN? Stephanie has a solution.

A lot has been made about WWE striking up a deal to bring PLEs to ESPN's premium subscription service in the United States. Internationally, those events are available as part of your Netflix sub in many markets (including the UK), but US-based fans aren't so lucky. They're being asked to fork over for Netflix so they can watch weekly television, then pay an additional $30 per month for PLEs on ESPN.

Stephanie McMahon has a solution, and it might not be the one you were expecting!

The 'Billionaire Princess' paused her interview Roman Reigns on the latest episode of her 'What's Your Story?' podcast to run a quick ad for VPNs. During that, McMahon suggested that everyone could bag themselves a sweet deal and check out the international version of Netflix (wink wink, nudge nudge) into the bargain.

Many WWE fans have been grumbling about heaping yet another subscription service on just so they can watch the company's full range of programming. Also, at the $30 price point, WWE PLEs have hiked right back up in price after many years of offering them relatively cheaper on the old WWE Network or Peacock.

The fact that it was Steph who came through with a cheeky solution is very unexpected. That'll be an interesting conversation round the dinner table with Triple H! Seriously though, there are 2 schools of thought here. Firstly, maybe McMahon didn't actually know what she was implying and simply read some ad copy plonked down in front of her by a producer.

Second, some fans on socials have pitched that WWE know precisely what they're doing here and plan to get a cut of VPN sales just because they can. There's money to be made, after all.
