2. No More Hollywood Blonds
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6i759_brian-pillman-vs-steve-austin_sport As previously discussed, the Hollywood Blonds tag team had to be one of -- if not the best -- portion of Steve Austins WCW career. Along with Brian Pillman, Austin was able to take a meaningless duo and elevate it to one of WCWs best offerings. The Blonds became two-time WCW Tag Team Champions despite only being together for less than a year. By the end of October 93, the Blonds were split up. Just like their initial joining together, the breakup seemed to be haphazard and without much reason. Austin has implied in countless interviews that he and Pillman were separated because they got over more than they were expected or desired to. Surely, Pillmans poorly-timed injury was also a factor, but it also would have been simple enough to have the Blonds reunite when Flyin Brian returned. Furthermore, the resulting feud between Austin and Pillman was nowhere close to being what it should have been. Rather than being an intense rivalry, the two men seemed to lack passion for their feud. Pillman was more concerned with embarrassing Austins new manager, Col. Robert Parker, than settling his score with his former teammate. The split up of the Hollywood Blonds was poorly handled and frankly, a poor decision. The duo had been together for less than a year and in that short amount of time, had managed to become one of WCWs most entertaining and infuriating acts.
