Sting: 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

2. Sting's Squadron vs. The Dangerous Alliance - War Games (WrestleWar 1992)

Veteran fans of wrestling have long held an affinity for War Games. For those unfamiliar, it's like a cross between the Elimination Chamber and the Royal Rumble. Two teams of five men, entering one at a time to give one team an advantage (which SUPRISINGLY ENOUGH always went to the heels), until all ten men are inside the caged-in double ring structure. Once everyone has entered, it's submission or surrender. No pinfalls, no disqualifications. It's violent, it's chaotic and it's everything awesome about wrestling. Out of all the great War Games matches WCW put on over the years, this one is arguably the best. Sting's Squardron consisted of Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes, Nikita Koloff and Ricky Steamboat. The Dangerous Alliance was Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Steve Austin and Larry Zbysko. That's some serious talent in one match. Austin and Windham start off and set the tone for what would be a classic 5 star affair. Sting wins for his team with an armbar on Bobby Eaton. This match has it all, and it's a great example of perfect wrestling booking. A must-see for any fan.
