The biggest reason Sting shouldn't sign with WWE is it would undermine his unique legacy in the industry. This is a legendary wrestler who never once stepped foot in a Vince McMahon ring. That's something Sting can be proud of, he can honestly say he made it on his own, he became the biggest pro wrestler of the last thirty years never to work for WWE. If he ends up joining then that claim goes out the window. Sting is absorbed into being just another WWE guy, finishing his career with the perception of being a McMahon wrestler. Particularly in relation to the southern territories were WCW ruled, part of Sting's legend is that he never went up North. His old school southern fans (many of whom simply stopped watching wrestling when WCW folded) will be begging him not to sign with Vince. He is there guy and has always stayed true to that. TNA was basically the poor southern heir to WCW. The truth about Sting is he doesn't need the WWE, he can retire happily without it. The northern company has always enshrined his legacy anyway, it isn't as if he needs to go there to ensure people remember him. As for WWE, they don't need Sting either, and they could do without another part time cost on the roster. Given the potential pitfalls, maybe it will be best for both parties if the deal on the table never gets signed. What do you think about Sting signing with WWE?
