Bubba told of how The Dudley Boyz had absolutely nothing left to do in WWE, and because of their reduced role, WWE wanted the pair to take a pay cut. Needless to say, they didn't agree.

With their relationship now strained with the company, The Dudley Boyz left in July of 2005.

D-Von recalled a different angle to the contract dispute, he said the pair were burned out, tired and hurting - 15 years without a break had taken its toll.

As well as leaving the company, the pair opened their own wrestling school as they saw a generation of Superstars coming through that didn't respect the business. They opened the school with the intention of imparting the values taught to them by Johnny Rodz.
