10 Best Wrestling Suplex Variations
6. Tequila Sunrise Suplex
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrWHldSaq4AI’m a fan of simplicity when it comes to suplexes, but every now and then a variation comes along that is a little overcomplicated but cool as anything. The Tequila Sunrise suplex is one such variation. Japanese female wrestler Mayumi Ozaka popularised the move, also referred to as a half nelson suplex.
It is another one which seems impossible to take anywhere other than the back of the head. The lifeless doe is clasped in a half nelson, with the free arm draped across the chump’s waist, before they are hurled over the strong attacker’s head dropping the fool on their head. No one wants to be dropped on their head. Ironically, I imagine this suplex feels a bit like the morning after a few too many tequila sunrises.
