The Wrestling Observer is reporting that tensions are still "very high" behind the scenes in WWE after Jaxson Ryker's controversial tweet.

The SmackDown star had attempted to use real-life events in the United States to further his character, and that prompted the likes of Kevin Owens and Mustafa Ali to shoot hard about how "pathetic" his post was.

Now, according to the Observer, WWE are struggling to keep the peace backstage.

Dave Meltzer said sources told him that the locker room was still "fuming" at Ryker for his ill-timed social media work, but did note that WWE can't fire the Forgotten Sons man for expressing his freedom of speech.

The long-term impact of his post could be damaging to the team's prospects in the company though. One source suggested that WWE might cool their interest in the Forgotten Sons (specifically Ryker - both Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake distanced themselves from their partner's stance on their own social media accounts) over the coming weeks.

Meltzer says that most within WWE have "decided to stay quiet" right now, but there's still a lot of ill-feeling towards Ryker over what he said.
