8. Big Van Vader

Vader dominated New Japan Pro Wrestling and was a real force to be reckoned with in WCW during the early 1990s. He won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship numerous times and claimed countless victories over the likes of Mick Foley (who he kayfabe put on the shelf for several months as the result of a monstrous powerbomb to the concrete floor), Ron Simmons, and Sting. Not only was he a big scary guy who was naturally intimidating (and supposedly a little too rough according to some wrestlers) but he was actually a pretty OK wrestler for someone his size. Many fans thought that he was a shoo-in for the world title when he joined the company but it failed to happen. Other than failing to win the championship from Shawn Michaels in the main event at SummerSlam in 1996 he was really never in the title picture and soon became a permanent fixture of the midcard where he faced the likes of Savio Vega and Goldust. It always bothered me that he got lost in the shuffle in WWE/WWF and never really accomplished anything important when in reality he should have had several world title reigns.
