The Complete A-Z Of The Undertaker

3. X - XXX

The Undertaker
WWE Network

Or WrestleMania XXX to be precise.

The New Orleans anniversary of the edition of the show will forever be remembered as the place where Undertaker's incredible streak came to a crushing halt at the hands of Brock Lesnar.

In truth, the feud had been poorly built on television, with odd face-to-face encounters between the pair failing to build any doubt that Undertaker would stroll over a 'Beast' who's WWE return had already seen him lose high profile matches against John Cena and Triple H.

The shock and awe that reverberated around the Mercedes-Benz Superdome may one day prove to be the biggest moment in company history.

Following years of unbelievable matches at the 'Show of Shows', most fans never foresaw the streak actually coming to an end. Furthermore, the two had assembled an objectively bad match, with Undertaker suffering a concussion early on that hampered a laboured brawl before Brock had found the 'suplex city' element of his in-ring destroyer role.

As the referee's hand hit three and Michael Cole hesitantly announced that 'the streak...is over', fans in attendance and the world over struggled to pick their jaws up. Some still can't believe it.

It was probably the purest ever presentation of pro wrestling's paradoxical heartbreak and triumph.
