The Complete A-Z Of Wrestling In 2018

12. O - Osaka-jō Hall

Asuka Zack Sabre Jr
NJPW

The site of (in your writer's opinion, of course) the finest pro wrestling pay-per-view of all time, Osaka-jō Hall played host to a thrilling pay-per-view in June.

There are certainly comparisons to be drawn between Dominion and WrestleMania X7 - the WWE supershow many consider in equal regard. The main event was an important and era-defining battle between the two biggest stars sharing a commercial and creative peak. The undercard was richly populated with a mix of young tearaways looking to make an impression, well-worn veterans working through the greatest hits and booking that enriched the existing crop for a brave new future ahead.

Like the Houston 'Show Of Shows', Dominion felt like something of a beautiful season finale in an artform traditionally without such a thing. Chris Jericho, astonishingly, can lay claim to playing a part in both.
