The Disturbing Truth Behind Sister Abigail

Paige 8
WWE Network

Even though, strictly speaking, Sister Abigail had to be older than Bray, wrestling fans being wrestling fans dreamt her in a different image. That image, essentially, was ‘every large-breasted alt-girl you ever wanted to shag on a rock club night’. Perhaps she was an ageless witch or something, to explain it, but regardless: Sister Abigail had to be Paige with Dani Filth make-up, and she had to wear a low-cut top.

This Sister Abigail never did make it to television, perhaps because it was only ever a masturbatory fantasy. WWE isn’t beyond that, of course, but WWE tends to masturbate over blondes.

A version of Sister Abigail did, eventually, make it to television.

When Bray Wyatt feuded with Randy Orton in 2017, Orton, the babyface, committed a foul, decidedly unheroic deed: he burned down the Wyatt Family compound. He did this, after feigning to join the Wyatt Family, in order to challenge Bray for the WWE Heavyweight Title the Eater of Worlds was months away from winning. Hey, if he was that prescient, he should have seen AEW coming and told Vince to sign Darby Allin and not piss Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley off and out of the company.

The corpse of Abigail apparently lay inside the compound. This desecration seemed to unravel Wyatt, which was odd. She was already dead. Perhaps the symbolic nature of the deed angered him so. Orton had, in effect, pissed on her grave.

Then, the worst possible version of Sister Abigail made it to television.
