The Disturbing Truth Behind Sister Abigail

Bray Wyatt Sister Abigail

Bray, in a bid to overcome Finn Bálor’s Demon, revealed that he was Sister Abigail all along, or she was always a mere figment of his deranged mind. In the summer of 2017, Wyatt became Sister Abigail. He became a goth lass drag act with a lisp. The October 2017 promo was exceptionally, hysterically awful. Lisping through a voice modulator, Wyatt wore a shawl and heavy black eye make-up, and spoke the sort of nonsense that had come to define him. On the YouTube clip uploaded to WWE’s official channel, at 2:33, you can make out the laughter of a fan in attendance.

Mercifully—or tragically, depending on your taste for schadenfreude—this version of Sister Abigail did not make it to pay-per-view. He might have tripped up over his gown thing, but fate spared Bray Wyatt, and maybe fate was out there on r/SquaredCircle bemoaning how much WWE had buried him, for fate intervened: Bray Wyatt reinvented himself in stunningly creative fashion earlier this year.

Sister Abigail subsequently transmogrified into a puppet as part of Bray’s Firefly Fun House. This was undefined, but in the fun-to-think-about way: was this all a recess of Wyatt’s demented mind? Was Abigail a manifestation of his subconscious? No. Seth Rollins burned the Fun House down. Abigail was a puppet Wyatt played with.

Bray Wyatt used to refer to himself as ‘Seducer, Accuser, Destroyer’. So far, in WWE canon, Sister Abigail is ’Ugly Twin Sister, Drag Act, Puppet’.

Not the best omen, is it?

Say WWE does, on Friday night, reveal Liv Morgan as Sister Abigail...
