Finally, after much anticipation, the chance came to see what The Fiend could do in a full match. It delivered and then some.

From the reworked version of Bray’s old theme, to the Bray Wyatt lantern head, everything felt special. The attention to detail was clear and satisfying, like somebody knew that we as fans were invested and for once wanted to reward that investment.

As for the match itself, Bray Wyatt’s move set hadn’t changed very much to reflect his new persona. It wasn’t a problem. Everything that was old seemed new again. The mask and Finn’s fearful reaction re-framed everything from the lumbering pace and Sister Abigail to that bending over backwards in the corner thing as a nightmarish horror show. A sickening neck snap induced winces.

Bálor got just enough offence in to demonstrate The Fiend’s resilience before being comprehensively destroyed.

Bray Wyatt finally looked like The Undertaker successor he was always touted to be.
