2. Degeneration X
The Shawn Michaels/Triple H heel incarnation was undoubtedly awesome back at the beginning of the Attitude Era and no doubt contributed to the resurgence in WWE's fortunes during the Monday Night Wars but the perhaps the best version of DX was the Triple H lead group that were a regular fixture on WWE TV for a number of years. DX were irreverent, controversial and most of all thoroughly entertaining often antagonising their opponents with top rate parodies and all out p*** takes. DX was what the NWO could have been with a better writing team and a little bit of forward thinking. The recent Triple H/HBK reunion version (that also included Hornswaggle) however was a horrible, second rate retread that was simply embarrassing for all involved.
