Hulk Hogan had faced some difficulties in his life after his in-ring career wound down, but things really took a turn in 2012 when a sex tape involving Hogan and his best friend’s wife popped up on the internet.

The incident took place in 2006, while Hogan was still married to his first wife, though she would file for divorce the following year. Hulk would claim he was taped without his knowledge or consent, but with Bubba the Love Sponge’s permission to sleep with his wife.

The publishing of the video online was bad enough, but Hogan would then sue Gawker for leaking the video, which put the entire issue on the front burner of news shows. Two trials later, Hogan would win a $31 million settlement, but his reputation would take quite the hit.
