The Greatest Match From Every WWE WrestleMania

19. WrestleMania X-Seven: TLC II

It takes one hell of a match to top The Rock and Austin’s high octane headline clash, but if anything can do it, it’s tables, ladders, chairs, and a whole lot of broken bodies. The WWE’s tag team scene was never as strong before or since, and the combination of the Dudleys, Hardys, and Edge and Christian created magic time and again,

The previous year’s triangle ladder match was masterful and that year’s SummerSlam saw the introduction of TLC, but it was at WrestleMania 17 that the up and coming athletes perfected the art of absolutely destroying yourself and others.

The match is best remembered for Edge spearing Jeff Hardy off a teetering ladder, but everyone involved - plus the third member of each team (Spike Dudley, Lita, Rhyno) takes their share of sickening bumps

Edge has gone on record stating this and similar matches severely shortened his career, but the iconic moments created in TLC II must make it all worth it. This relentless, adrenaline-riddled encounter is a career highlight for all concerned, and stands as the centrepiece for an amazing time in tag team wrestling.
