The Heenan Family Ranked - From Worst To Best

3. 'Ravishing' Rick Rude

'Ravishing' Rick Rude was brought into the World Wrestling Federation in 1987 as the newest member of the Heenan Family, and immediately began feuding with former Family member 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff. 'Mr. Wonderful' vs. 'The Ravishing One' is the most 1980s wrestling tag line I can think of.

Rude is remembered as a top tier professional wrestler, and for good reason. His first truly memorable feud was an all-timer with Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, one that pushed many boundaries in the industry and saw a beef between two wrestlers transcend what went on in the ring.

Rude was a one-time Intercontinental Champion whilst with the Family, and also challenged the Ultimate Warrior for the WWF Championship in a steel cage at SummerSlam 1990. Much like every other Heenan Family challenger for the top title, he was unsuccessful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
